  1. You don’t have to enter me in the contest, I just wanted to participate 🙂
In regards to the “communication” photo…

What do I see? The pitiful carcass that the vulture of “modernization” left behind.
I am reminded of a time long gone…a time when men sent letters to woo their lady love…a time when soldiers and their families corresponded across oceans…a time when a letter might be the only link between a person and their loved ones. A TIME BEFORE THE INTERNET. Now that everyone and everything is a phone call, email, text message, or tweet away, we are more out of touch than ever with our fellow man. We have the world at our fingertips, but we seem to have lost some appreciation for the “human” element of communication. As a lover of language and student of communication, I wish we could restore the power of the handwritten word! Instead, we will likely continue our push for technological advancement and we will continue to be lonely, isolated, and disconnected.

  2. I appreciate your participation, thank you. 🙂 I am in total agreement with you and the handwritten note, an email will NEVER be able to replace it for me. Technology has many benefits and it also removes us from the human contact and that is simple sad. The “communication” piece makes me smile as I am too reminded of a time before the Internet. A time where togetherness was valued, the hearing of a loved ones voice on the telephone excite emotions or the anticipation of receiving a letter from your best-friend who went away for the summer.

  3. I’m like Tiff…I just love the pictures. I have always been fascinated by wonderful pictures. You take some great ones! Thanks for the simple things that we always tend to overlook!

  4. I love the “Communication” piece – at first thought it reminds of the country roads with mail boxes from my childhood and going to visit my grandmother; or riding down the old country roads on a Sunday afternoon. This piece placed me a nostalgic state of time gone by that were simple and sweet. Yet, when I look at it again, merely focusing on the mail boxes, I see the present and future in the boxes. A progression of change in how these were designed – but one constant message….that of communication always being a much needed tool in the arena of life!

A great piece and my piece of choice!

  6. Thank you for the Journey, it brought a smile to my face as I too remember the country roads right over in Conyers, GA. We took dirt roads to visit my great grandmother's siblings when I was a young girl. 🙂

I believe communication will make or break any relationship. It is certainly a very important tool in life.
